pH measures how acidic or alkaline your nutrient solution is, on a scale from 0 (extremely acidic) to 14 (extremely alkaline), with 7 being neutral. Plants can only absorb nutrients within a specific pH window. For most hydroponic crops in UAE — tomatoes, lettuce, herbs, peppers — the optimal range is pH 5.8–6.3. Outside this range, nutrients become chemically unavailable even if they’re physically present in your solution.

What is EC and Why Does It Matter

EC is measured in mS/cm (millisiemens per centimetre). A solution with too low EC starves your plants. Too high EC causes nutrient burn — brown leaf tips and wilting even in well-watered plants.
