Hydroponics Safety Policy
Growing hydroponically involves nutrient solutions, pH adjustment chemicals, electrical equipment, and water systems. This policy explains the safety standards we apply to all content published on UAE Hydroponics.
⚠️ Chemical Safety
pH adjustment chemicals (pH Up — potassium hydroxide, pH Down — phosphoric acid or nitric acid) are corrosive. We apply the following standards to all dosing content:
- All dosing guidance includes product concentration requirements
- All pH adjustment tools include safety warnings
- We do not publish exact dosing without adequate context (reservoir volume, starting pH, product concentration)
- We recommend personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection) for all chemical handling
- We recommend consulting your product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use
⚡ Electrical Safety
Hydroponics combines water and electricity. All electrical installation guides on this platform recommend:
- Use of GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets near water
- Proper cable management and waterproof enclosures
- Consultation with a qualified electrician for permanent installations
- Compliance with UAE DEWA and local electrical codes
🍃 Food Safety
Hydroponically grown produce is for human consumption. We recommend:
- Using food-grade nutrients and equipment only
- Flushing systems before harvest when using chemical pest or disease treatments
- Following withholding periods stated on any pesticide or treatment product
- Not applying treatments labelled “not for food crops” on edible plants
